Seeking other medical opinions about individual cases

"The CCLG has often been approached to seek other opinions on an individual patients' care. Within the United Kingdom, we have an established method for seeking second opinions through the medical team caring for a patient or through the general practitioner. The CCLG as an organisation, cannot under any circumstances, be involved in arranging second opinions. If you are seeking a second opinion for your child or yourself about any aspect of your care, then we would recommend that you speak to your Consultant or your General Practitioner and ask them to arrange this. This would not be unusual and you should not feel in any way inhibited from following this line of action."
